Getting Closer to Solids

For anyone who may not know I plan on child/baby led weaning.  I believe babies should not be given solids until at least six months old & even my pediatrician agreed.  Purees aren't really going to be a part of Spencer's diet.  If anyone doesn't know what baby led weaning is please visit here and you can read all about it.  I'm excited to start even though Spencer is no where near ready.  He'll be 5 months old on the 9th. It's hard to believe my tiny 6 lbs 8 oz baby is so big & smart now!  I never imagined I could love a baby as much as I love my angel, and it is something I worried about on a daily basis when I was pregnant. But I worried for nothing. I love him and his sister more than anything and I only want to do what is best and right for Spencer, so no solids until at least 6 months. I also plan to breast feed him until he naturally weans himself no matter what anyone says. Full term breastfeeding for everyone!

So I got an email a little while back saying I qualified for the Sunkissed Voxbox. I was very excited about this. Then today I received an email saying I am getting the "Something Blur" Voxbox. This is what is confusing me: I am not getting married nor engaged and this is the bridal/wedding voxbox. Not sure what this is about and I hope I still get the Sunkissed box as well.

Clingy & Crying

The past two days Spencer has been clingy & fussy. I think 50% of it is teething & 50% is just a stage.  My nips are suffering, as well. He's been a nursing monster, & I can't get his nails clipped so he just digs those little razor blades into my boob while he's nursing. I love my little guy, but wow, I was not expecting this!

It's been a little frustrating, but I just keep reminding myself that he is just trying to communicate his needs to me, and he needs constant cuddles & feeding. At least my SO is back & can help me, lol.

Free Samples, Products and Stuff

I think everyone likes getting free stuff, I know I sure do. Recently I've become addicted to signing up for free samples & trials. I've compiled a list to help you start receiving free samples if you're into that kind of thing. Remember if anything requires you to answer a bunch of questions or give out more personal info than you are comfortable with, then it probably is a scam & I suggest not filling out any information that isn't really required.

You can also contact companies by mail/phone/email & request samples & you may just get them, this is a little more time consuming but it's worth it. Just try to be as specific as possible & remember the saying "you'll catch more flies with honey than vinegar," companies are more likely to respond to positive criticism.

Spanking IS Hitting

I don't agree with physical discipline. I think it's wrong. To instill fear in your child to make them behave is just wrong. Try looking at it from their point of view, realize how much larger you are and how intimidating that has to be. I couldn't imagine hurting my child. To force them into submission. I just can't understand it.

Off to the Zoo

Well, tomorrow! We are going to spend the week with my So's mother & tomorrow we are going to the Cincinatti Zoo! Four months old may be a little young but I don't even care. We are in for a great mini vaycay this coming week, she spoils us. I'll post pictures of the trip soon!
